The Leicester Lions will be sporting a new team sponsor on their kevlars when they race their first fixture in a pre-season challenge match in March. Rapid Solicitors, one of the UK’s largest personal injury law firms, are backing the Lions in a two-year deal for the club.
Owner Dave Hemsley said: "Leicester Speedway are delighted to welcome on board the blue chip sponsor Rapid Solicitors on a two year sponsorship deal for our inaugural season in the Elite League. It is very exciting for Leicester Speedway to be associated with a company who is well renowned within motorcycle sport including the British Superbike Championship and MotoGP with Paul Bird Motorsport. We feel like we are entering a new era of speedway in Leicester and the tie up with Rapid Solicitors and their wider associations with motorcycle sport is very exciting to our club.
It is our aim this season to ensure that Rapid Solicitors enjoy their association with speedway and it is important that they benefit from the newly announced coverage of live Elite League speedway on Sky Sports. We will ensure that the Rapid Solicitors Leicester Lions become a household name in the region and that as our sponsors they have an enjoyable two years with us working on a common goal."

The season officially opens on Sunday March 9th at the Jordan Road Surfacing Stadium with the staging of the Ben Fund Bonanza when Team GB will race against a Rest of the World side. Fans will see the new Lions team in action for the first time at Leicester when they race a pre-season friendly on Saturday 22nd March in preparation for their opening Elite League match at home against Wolverhampton a week later when the new World Champion, Tai Woffinden, will lead the West Midlands club.
New Kevlar Design
The Rapid Solicitors sponsored Leicester Lions will be resplendent in a new set of Kevlars when the season opens next month and the design was unveiled at a gathering of club sponsors, business partners and season ticket holders tonight.
“I would like to thank the companies who have come forward in support of the purchase of the seven race suits for the team through sponsorship arrangements. Now that we are in the Elite League it is a requirement as members that the team are kitted out in identical race suits which is an additional cost that we never had to find in our days as a Premier League club” commented the Lions Promoter, David Hemsley.
